Work in Progress

Last few days, I have been working on still life oil paintings.  I started by doing an umber layer first but in acrylics.  I wanted it to dry faster.  Here is the umber layer of the pears:

...and the completed oil painting:

The second larger painting is the avocados.  Again I did the acrylic umber layer first.  It helps with establishing the values.  Here is work in progress:

They will be ready soon for purchase at my Etsy shop.

Spinet Desk

As artists, we sometimes tend to postpone our creativity due to the lack of a "perfect space".  I prefer to have my working station neat and organized.
Recently, I purchased a spinet desk that was in a decent condition.  I enjoyed it for a while just as it was. Finally, I decided it was time to bring out the Annie Sloan chalk paint.

I liked its "antique" charm.  The decision to paint it, was not easy.

However, it has a different kind of beauty now.

As Rumi said, "Don't be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others.  Unfold your own myth."
I hope this space will inspire more creativity.  Everyone needs a place to call their own.

Thank you,

Aspen Trees Painting

Hello and welcome to my blog!  I thought as my first post I will share with you my passion for trees.
Particularly aspen trees I find very beautiful and a great subject for my paintings.

Here are a few pictures of the painting process of my most recent painting:

and here it is completed in the bedroom:

Well, I enjoyed painting it and I like being reminded of the aspen tree's beauty and significance.  Please feel free to comment and ask questions.  This painting may be commissioned in different sizes through my etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/FAgallery
